Castello di Verduno Barbaresco 2020

Located in the rolling hills of Piedmont, Castello di Verduno has vines in top vineyards in both Barolo and Barbaresco. It’s been family-run for generations, but the Bianco’s welcomed winemaker Mario Andrion to the estate in 2000. His approach to winemaking is firmly traditional: organic farming, indigenous yeast fermentation, and minimal SO2 — exactly the kind of wines we want to drink. The trend toward “modern” Barolo and Barbaresco has left Castello di Verduno out of the spotlight, but we want to give them the attention they deserve.

While their Barolo is best kept in the cellar for a few more years, their Barbaresco is ready for action. A product of sustainable viticulture mixed with the tried and true methods we love, this Barbaresco has quickly become a cornerstone in our lineup of Piedmont wines. When you uncork it, you’ll experience aromas of white flower and mint, alongside berries and tobacco on the palate. Grab it now so you won’t have to wait years for the experience of a gorgeous Nebbiolo from one of our favorite under-the-radar producers.
